Do I need to install anything, or have someone come over?
No. You sign up online, set up your menu in the browser and print the QR codes on your own printer or at a print shop. Servers sign in from their phone with a link and a PIN.
How does the free trial work?
For 14 days you get every feature, without a credit card. If you don't continue, the menu stops showing to guests, but your menu, QR codes and history stay saved and work again as soon as you subscribe.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. They scan the QR code with the camera and the menu opens in the browser.
Can guests pay from their phone?
Not yet in the United States: it is coming soon, with card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Today guests order and ask for the check from the phone, and you close the check on your POS as you do now.
Does it replace my POS?
No, it works next to it. Orders can go through the server, who rings them up on your POS as today. The check copy from Kalimenu is not a sales receipt; you can note your POS receipt number on it.
We are seasonal. Do we pay all year?
No. Pause your subscription in the months you are closed, free of charge. Your menu, QR codes and history stay saved and you continue with one click.
Do I need a tablet or a printer?
Not necessarily. Servers work from their own phone. For the kitchen any tablet or computer is enough, and if you have an 80 mm thermal printer it prints tickets too.
Can I change dishes and prices myself?
Yes, from the admin, whenever you like. Changes show up right away, without reprinting the QR codes.
Which languages does the menu speak?
English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Greek, Dutch and Polish. The menu opens in the language of the guest's phone, and you can hide the languages you don't need.
Is there a contract?
No. You pay monthly and stop whenever you like. Pay yearly and you get 2 months free.
